THE ART WORLD--COMING FULL CIRCLEThe publishing world is too interesting these days to stay on the sidelines any longer, so I talked Aaron into writing a new series with me. Although it''s always possible that we''ll give Lee Ofsted a new adventure, my mind has turned to my first love--art.
I was an art major in college, and one of my best jobs ever was a grant-funded position at the MH de Young Museum. In the early 1980s I was hired to develop an American art book collection for the new American art curator. It was fabulous job and I loved working for the museum. Aaron did get some of his knowledge of the behind-the-scenes workings of major museums from that time. He put it to good use in his Chris Norgren mysteries. Now, both of us are enjoying the idea of setting a new book back in the art world, especially in the areas of art theft, forgery and other nefarious going-ons. The new book is titled A DANGEROUS TALENT and it is backdropped by the trendy southwestern ambience of Santa Fe, the arty New Age vibes of Taos, and the picturesque red rock canyons of the aptly named Ghost Ranch.
I suspect, more than one of the readers of this blog, can figure out which American artist''s work is featured in this novel!
